The Times Higher Education World University Rankings (THE) results were published recently, in which the field of humanities and arts is once again the highest among university fields and the leading Faculty in the entire Baltic countries, ranking 176-200 in the world. This year, the field has seen significant increases in research and teaching quality, as well as in industry connections.

The University of Tartu is known for its high-quality studies and research. The university is featured in many top university rankings lists, both local and international. THE (Times Higher Education) has been providing trusted performance data on universities for students and their families, academics, university leaders, governments and industry since 2004. Most rankings are based on bibliometric indicators – the number of scientific publications and the citations to them – as well as university financial data, the number of academic staff and students, and the proportion of international students and staff. The Times Higher Education World University Rankings also take into account a university's reputation as an important component, which is assessed through international opinion polls.

The rankings of all universities in the humanities and arts fields are available on the THE website. The University of Tartu has been represented in the THE rankings since 2011.
