On 10 June, the University of Tartu announced its new teaching excellence ambassadors. Among them is Professor of Cultural Semiotics Maarja Ojamaa. The title is given to recognise 14 academic staff members who develop their teaching based on evidence and support an open teaching culture that values learning.
On 14–15 January, the conference “Teaching for learning 2026: anxiety and excitement of teaching” took place at the University of Tartu. The focus of the two-day event was on shaping an academic culture that supports learning and pedagogical wellbeing.
At the conference “Teaching for learning 2026”, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Aune Valk presented the teaching awards and the teaching quality award of 2025.
Researchers from the University of Tartu Institute of Estonian and General Linguistics have created a mobile app SayEst that allows learners of Estonian to practice the pronunciation.
