International conference on translation and performative practices, 13-15 December

On December 13-15, 2018, the University of Tartu is hosting the fourth international conference in the series Itineraries in Translation History with the subtitle:  Translation and Performative Practices. The conference focuses on the topic of theatre translation and the translation of different other practices connected to performance.

The topics of the presentations range from the history of audiovisual translation to the translatability, translation strategies and research methodologies regarding theatre texts, to name a few. The organisers are happy to welcome scholars from different parts of the world: United Kingdom, Australia, USA, Canada, Turkey, Czech Republic, Portugal, Hungary, China, Latvia and Lithuania.

As a tradition, the conference is organised by the joint effort of translation studies scholars both in Tartu and Tallinn universities, Maria-Kristiina Lotman and Katiliina Gielen (Tartu) and Anne Lange and Daniele Monticelli (Tallinn). 

The conference is funded by UT basic funding grant PHVLC18912 and the Institute of Humanities, Tallinn University. 

 

The working language of the conference is English.
