18.–23. augustini toimub Tartu Ülikooli eesti ja üldkeeleteaduse instituudis 14. rahvusvaheline soome-ugri kongress (Congressus Internationalis Fenno-Ugristarum ehk CIFU). Registreerumine on avatud 30. juunini.
On 9–10 October 2025, the University of Tartu will host the final conference of the MEDAL project, “Methodological Excellence in Data-Driven Approaches to Linguistics: New Challenges, Novel Approaches.” Registration is now open.
On May 20, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m., Associate Professor Ingrid Harrington from the University of New England, Australia will hold a guest lecture at University of Tartu on the award-winning project “Commencing Student Success Project”. The project provides 14 strategies aimed at helping all students feel supported at university and enhancing their academic success.
The winner of the three rectors’ scholarship competition, which was held for the eighth time this year, is Arnita Agrita Umalas, who was born and raised in Latvia but is studying Estonian language and linguistics at the University of Tartu, focusing on the Livonian language in her master’s thesis.
Undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students from universities in the Baltic countries, including the University of Tartu, are invited to an international student conference ”Bridges in the Baltics“, held at the University of Latvia in Riga from 9 to 10 October 2025. Conference abstracts can be sent until 30 June 2025.

On 1 April at 16:15 Hanna Perekhodawill give a lecture "Ukraine's Centrality in the Russian Political Imaginary: Explaining Continuity, Avoiding Essentialism" in room 230 of Jakobi study building. The lecture will be held in English. Everybody interested in the topic is welcome.
